Presses are among the forming machines that are used for the non-cutting shaping of materials such as upsetting, deep drawing or extrusion. Presses are differentiated according to their parameters such as force, work or stroke. In toggle lever or eccentric presses, the stroke is adjustable, while in slower-working hydraulic presses, the pressure in the hydraulic system and thus the constant force available over the entire working stroke is adjustable.
